Aprisa XE Passes RF Compliance Testing
The 1400 MHz Aprisa XE has been successfully tested for RF compliance to ETSI standards. RF compliance is part of the R&TTE (Radio and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment) Directive. The Directive is the main instrument regulating the sector and ensures that radio equipment is safe and does not disturb radio services and other equipment. The R&TTE standards and processes for the assessment for radio equipment deployed in high-density environments were developed following the adoption of the R&TTE Directive by the European community. 4RF Communications draws upon the R&TTE assessment process to form the baseline of our international compliance strategy.
The introduction to market in 2004 of our Aprisa XE range of microwave radios coincided with the introduction of a new draft set of standards for RF compliance (ETSI draft EN 302 217 series). It provided an excellent opportunity to test to the new standard as part of the Aprisa XE compliance strategy. We are pleased to confirm that in October 2004 accredited testing and certification laboratory, MiCOM Labs, successfully completed testing of the 1400 MHz radio in accordance with the draft requirements of EN 302 217.
Modulation methods of QPSK and 16 QAM are explicitly covered within the scope of draft EN 302 217 for equipment operating in the 1400 MHz band. 4RF also tested at 32 QAM and 64 QAM. The resulting test report from MiCOM Labs is being submitted to a Notified Body for assessment to the essential requirements of the R&TTE Directive prior to the formal issue of our CE mark.
